For two and a half years during the Second World War, Wanborough Manor, a country house near Guildford, was a training school for a secret organisation, the Special Operations Executive (SOE). If they passed muster, the students from Wanborough went on to further training before being sent to France to support members of the local resistance. This book describes the training at Wanborough and includes pen portraits of the agents. Many lost their lives, but the others survived to see the restoration of France’s freedom and the return of peace.
