This swan design is very special to us at The National Archives as not only is it based on one of our documents (BT 43/101/313051) but we also have a pair of resident swans who live here in our grounds.
This stunning pure silk scarf was inspired by an 1877 wallpaper design by Walter Crane held at The National Archives. Best known as a painter and illustrator Crane believed passionately that objects for the home, such as wallpaper, should be equal in beauty to paintings and sculptures. Made in the United Kingdom from 100% pure silk, this beautiful scarf would make a lovely gift. Gift boxed with 'The National Archives' tag on the scarf.

Orders up to £30 are charged a flat fee of £4.95
Orders between £30.01 and £50 are charged a flat fee of £6.95.
Usual UK delivery timescale (excluding custom prints) is between 5 and 7 working days from the date of dispatch. Please allow up to 14 working days for delivery. Your prints and frames will be handmade by King & McGaw at their Sussex workshop.
Unframed orders are shipped within 5 working days (normally shipped next day).
Framed orders are shipped within 20 working days.

If you are not completely satisfied with your item you may return it within 28 days for a refund.
