This book which relates specifically to tracing your family history in the theatre (including pantomime and music hall), is designed to guide the family historian through the various steps to be taken once the occupation of "theatrical artiste" or something similar is found on a birth, marriage or death certificate. The book provides a brief history of the theatre in Britain and identifies libraries and record repositories, etc. where research can be undertaken, as well as examples of how Victorian showmen were successfully traced and researched. Contents include topics of: newspapers, playbills, biographies, fair and circuses, music hall, sources in Ireland and Scotland, specialist archives and collections and more.

Unframed orders are shipped within 5 working days (normally shipped next day).
