Description

This scarf, in the Suffragette colours of green, white, and purple, is a copy of the one that Emily Davison attempted to drape over the King's horse at Epsom racecourse that fateful day back in 1913, as a protest for the right of women to vote. Although Davison died four days later from the injuries sustained at the racecourse, her heroic gesture has echoed down through the ages. She became a martyr for the suffragette cause, and women eventually gained limited voting rights in 1918 and finally achieved the same rights as men in 1928.

Made from cotton lawn, a plain weave textile designed using fine, high-thread-count yarns, which results in a silky, untextured feel. Measures 42cm x 172cm.

Orders up to £30 are charged a flat fee of £4.95

Orders between £30.01 and £50 are charged a flat fee of £6.95.

Your prints and frames will be handmade by King & McGaw at their Sussex workshop.

Unframed orders are shipped within 5 working days (normally shipped next day).

Framed orders are shipped within 20 working days.

If you are not completely satisfied with your item you may return it within 28 days for a refund.
